90-955 of manganese ore is used in iron steel industry. It is also used in production of battery, electrolytic zinc, uranium, glass and ceramic industry, artificial fertilizer, glass, auto paint, refractory, cement, pharmaceutical industry, photography, petrochemistry and electronic industry.

95% of manganese in iron steel industry is used in manganous iron alloy, iron free manganese alloys and metallic manganese production. Ferro-manganese is one the most significant manganiferrous iron alloys and 90% of the manganese used in iron-steel production is ferro-manganese. Manganese is required in the production of almost all kinds of steel and its is also significant in cast iron output.
